Extension: LeadStonk Business Organizer
Last Updated: July 6, 2025
1. Overview
LeadStonk Business Organizer ("the Extension") helps users organize publicly available business information displayed on Google Maps into a structured format. This Privacy Policy explains what data is accessed, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
2. What Data Is Accessed
The Extension accesses only information that is already publicly visible on Google Maps business listing pages, including:
- Business name
- Phone number
- Business website URL
- Publicly listed email address (if displayed on the business website)
- Business rating and review count
- Social media profile links publicly listed on the business website
The Extension does not access, collect, or store any personal user data, browsing history, passwords, payment information, or any data unrelated to business listings.
3. How Data Is Used
Collected business information is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Organizing and displaying the data in a structured table within the Extension's side panel
- Allowing the user to export the organized data as a CSV or JSON file for their own use
- Optionally syncing the data to the user's own LeadStonk account on the LeadStonk server, if the user has logged in and enabled sync
4. Data Storage
Business data is stored in two places:
- Locally: Temporarily stored in Chrome's local extension storage (
chrome.storage.local) during the current session to enable the results view and export functionality.
- LeadStonk Server (optional): If the user is authenticated, organized business data is transmitted over a secure HTTPS connection to the LeadStonk server (
leadstonk-server-production.up.railway.app) and stored in the user's account for access via the LeadStonk dashboard.
5. Data Sharing with Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any collected data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other commercial purpose. Data transmitted to the LeadStonk server is accessible only to the authenticated user who collected it.
6. Permissions Justification
- storage: Required to temporarily store organized business information locally during the user's session and save user preferences.
- activeTab: Required to read the currently open Google Maps page to access publicly visible business listing information.
- sidePanel: Required to display the organizer interface in Chrome's side panel while the user browses Google Maps.
- Host permission (*://www.google.com/maps/*): Required to inject the content script that reads publicly visible business information on Google Maps pages.
- Host permission (LeadStonk server): Required to sync organized data to the user's LeadStonk account when they are logged in.
7. User Control & Data Deletion
Users may:
- Reset locally stored data at any time using the "Reset Memory" button in the Extension's side panel.
- Delete their LeadStonk account and all associated data by contacting support at support@leadstonk.com.
- Uninstall the Extension at any time, which removes all locally stored data automatically.
8. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
